Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 30 May 2026
These General Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of Livetongue, a live translation and transcription service operated by Relativity GmbH, Breite Straße 25, 13597 Berlin, Germany ("we", "us", "provider"). By creating an account or using Livetongue you agree to these Terms.
§ 1 Scope and Provider
Livetongue provides software that joins meetings, captures audio, and produces real-time translations, transcripts, and AI-generated summaries. The service is offered to businesses and consumers in the European Economic Area and worldwide, subject to mandatory local law.
Contact: info@relativitygmbh.de. Our Data Protection Officer is esquilin GmbH.
§ 2 Account Registration
To use Livetongue you must create an account and provide complete and truthful information. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity under your account. You must notify us without undue delay if you become aware of any unauthorised access.
Automated account creation is prohibited. Each user may hold only one account unless we authorise otherwise. You must be at least 18 years old to use Livetongue.
§ 3 Permitted Use
You may use Livetongue only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms and the rights of third parties. You agree not to:
- upload, transmit, or transcribe audio you are not legally entitled to record or process;
- circumvent recording-consent requirements in your jurisdiction;
- use Livetongue to insult, defame, or harm others;
- reverse-engineer the service or attempt to extract source code;
- access the service through automated means except for our official APIs.
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules, with no obligation to refund.
§ 4 Recording and Consent
Livetongue captures audio from meetings, lectures, and other sessions you initiate. You are responsible for ensuring that all participants in a session are informed and have given any consent required by applicable law (including § 201 StGB in Germany and equivalent recording-consent rules elsewhere). We are not liable for your failure to obtain such consent.
§ 5 Software Licence
We grant you a freely revocable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable right to use Livetongue within the scope of your subscription. All other rights are reserved.
§ 6 Plans, Fees, and Subscriptions
Livetongue offers a Free plan with a monthly cap of 15 minutes of live translation, and a Pro plan (currently €100 per month) with unlimited live translation and the full Livetongue AI features. Current prices and plan inclusions are shown on our Pricing page.
Paid subscriptions begin on the date payment is received and renew automatically at the end of each billing period using the original payment method, for an equal term, unless cancelled before the end of the then-current period. After the initial fixed term, consumer subscriptions may also be cancelled with one month's notice at any time, in accordance with § 309 No. 9 BGB.
§ 7 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by sending an unambiguous notice to info@relativitygmbh.de. Access to paid features continues until the end of the paid period.
§ 8 Right of Withdrawal (Consumers in the EU)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the contract is concluded.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter or email to the address above). You may use the model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory.
Loss of the right of withdrawal: The right does not apply to the supply of digital content not on a tangible medium if performance has begun with your prior express consent and acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. By starting to use Livetongue's translation, transcription, or AI summary features during the withdrawal period, you give such consent.
§ 9 AI-Generated Content and Accuracy
Translations, transcripts, and summaries are produced by automated speech-recognition and large-language-model systems. They may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated output. You are solely responsible for reviewing such output before relying on it for legal, medical, financial, or other consequential decisions.
§ 10 Fair Use
The Pro plan is marketed as "unlimited" for normal individual or small-team use. We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts whose usage materially exceeds typical patterns (for example, sustained 24/7 transcription, shared credentials across multiple users, or automated abuse). We will contact you before taking action where reasonably practicable.
§ 11 Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may interrupt the service for maintenance, updates, or security reasons, with notice where reasonably possible. Force-majeure events are excluded from our control.
§ 12 Liability
We are liable without limitation for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health caused by us, and for damages caused by intent or gross negligence.
For damages caused by simple negligence, we are liable only where an essential contractual obligation (a duty whose fulfilment is required to enable proper performance of the contract and on whose observance you may regularly rely) has been breached, and only up to the foreseeable, typical contractual damage.
Any further liability — in particular for indirect damages, loss of profits, or business interruption — is excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
§ 13 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Relativity GmbH and its affiliates against any third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of recording-consent rules, or your infringement of third-party rights.
§ 14 Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in Livetongue (including software, branding, and documentation) are the exclusive property of Relativity GmbH or its licensors. Your transcripts and content remain yours; we process them on your behalf as described in our Privacy Policy.
§ 15 Changes to the Terms
We may amend these Terms with reasonable notice. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product. Continued use of Livetongue after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
§ 16 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, mandatory provisions of the law of the consumer's habitual residence apply where they offer greater protection.
The exclusive place of jurisdiction for merchants is Berlin. Consumers may sue and be sued at their place of residence.
§ 17 Dispute Resolution
Please contact us first at info@relativitygmbh.de — most disputes can be resolved amicably within 21 days.
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
§ 18 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid one that comes closest to the intended economic purpose.
